Looking for a specific rune? The table below shows which boss drops it, where to find that boss, and whether you need Cogah mode — all 16 Preludes 15 runes in one lookup.
Quick Answer
- Most runes drop from Agari world bosses: brew The Cogah Elixir from Agaric Mushrooms, drink it at a boss bell to enter Cogah hard mode, and farm the encounter on respawn. Per-rune sources: Rune → Boss drop table.
- Track respawns with the Agari Timer; the full loop strategy lives in Elite hunting.
- Socketing, Joinery, and Harmony upgrades are covered in Runes & Enchanting.

Data policy (Preludes 15): weapon types and totem slots match the community catalog Runes table; drop sources are each rune's community-catalog page as synced to our rune database. The catalog lists sources, not drop rates — we never invent percentages. Rows marked verify in-client are pending confirmation.

"Any mode" = the community catalog lists the drop from normal encounters (Cogah mode still boosts overall rates while active). "Cogah only" = every listed source is a Cogah-mode encounter. Planning a session? Sort by the location column and chain bosses that share an area — Wevetwood, Stroaic, and Sidae's Stake each host two rune-bearing targets. Complete drop lists — containers, sieges, and every listed foe — live on each rune's page in the rune database.
Farming Tips by Rune Type
Cogah-only runes (8 of 16)
Treefell, The Torrent, Picktrix, The Mistgale, The Hollowing, Splitbolt, The Durglint, and The Flitsmoke have no normal-mode source: the community catalog lists them exclusively from (Cogah) encounters. Workflow that matters:
- Brew The Cogah Elixir from Agaric Mushrooms (dropped by Agari) before you leave camp.
- Drink it at the boss bell, then confirm the (Cogah) nameplate on the encounter before committing keys — a normal-mode kill wastes the elixir window.
- Chain bosses per session. Agari respawn on ~30-minute timers, so rotate two or three Cogah targets while waiting on respawns — for example Splitbolt routes pair Kabocha with Gourdo, both in Wevetwood.
Any-mode runes (8 of 16)
Alca's Breath, Hurlwind, Everflame (Heavy and Long Blade), Archstorm, Torcheternal, Forburn, and Emberaught also list normal encounters, which makes them far friendlier to farm:
- Overworld loops: Hurlwind from Discharged Nimrod and Archstorm from Wraith of Wastes are repeatable without elixirs — just follow the respawn timers and route between them while a Cogah elixir session is on cooldown.
- Chest backup route: Alca's Breath (Ode Chests), Hurlwind and Archstorm (Crypt Sarcophagi), and Torcheternal (Glades chests) all drop from containers, so a chest-and-crypt loop passively banks runes while you farm keys and quartz. It is slower per hour than boss kills, but it never wastes a Cogah window.
- Siege piggyback: Fort Kearnhold Siege lists Everflame drops, and sieges run on ~3-hour cycles — check the event schedule before dedicating a session, and pick sieges whose reward pools overlap with the runes you still need.
Next Steps
- World boss Agari loop — boss-by-boss locations and the full 30-minute rotation.
- Farming routes — material loops that pair naturally with rune farms.
