How Soulframe leveling works: there are three XP tracks — Envoy Rank (character), weapon rank 30 + Combat Arts, and Pact Mastery — and they level simultaneously, not one after another. What to level first: main-quest Fables for Envoy Rank, equip one weapon type everywhere for rank 30, start Tuvalkane crafting for Bond 3 (Pact crafting gate). After Torment Stag, farm the Arena tile in Glades of Andurin for the fastest weapon/Pact XP.
| Track | What it is | Level first? | |-------|-----------|--------------| | Envoy Rank | Character level — unlocks content + Virtue points | ✅ Yes — follow main quest Fables | | Weapon rank 30 | Damage scaling + Combat Arts every 6 ranks | ✅ Equip one type; use it for all content | | Pact Mastery | Pact power + Arcanic effectiveness | ✅ Passive from combat; Bond 3 at Tuvalkane unlocks crafting |
Gates to remember: Weapon rank 30 for full damage scaling · Tuvalkane Bond 3 for Pact crafting · Arena (post-Stag) for fastest weapon/Pact farm — full walkthrough in Arena guide.
GSC intent: Searching soulframe leveling / envoy leveling? The table above is the answer — three tracks at once, Fables first, Arena after Torment Stag.
Soulframe has no single "character level." Progression is split across three tracks that advance simultaneously:
| Track | What it affects | How to level | |-------|----------------|-------------| | Envoy Rank | Content gates, Virtue points (+1 per rank) | Main quest (Fables), exploration, Sparrow's Tales | | Weapon Rank + Combat Arts | Weapon damage scaling, Art points every 6 ranks | Combat with that weapon type, Arena | | Pact Mastery | Pact item power, Arcanic effectiveness | Combat, Bond activities, Arena |
Envoy Rank is your account-wide character progression. Each rank grants +1 Virtue point to allocate across Courage, Spirit, or Grace (see Virtues explained). Virtue points determine which weapons you can fully attune and how many Arcanic slots you unlock on your Pact.
Best sources for Envoy XP:
Envoy Rank is deliberately paced with story progression. You cannot out-grind the main quest — Fables are your primary Envoy XP source.
Every weapon type (Bows, Long Blades, Sword & Shield, Daggers, etc.) has its own rank that caps at 30. You earn weapon XP by using that weapon type in combat — damage dealt and kills both contribute.
Combat Arts: Every 6 ranks you earn 1 Combat Art point for that weapon type. These points unlock and upgrade weapon-specific abilities. Manage your Combat Arts at the Nightfold bookshelf.
How to level weapons efficiently:
Preludes 15: 1–2★ weapons now drop fully built with Craftwork and Tempers. 3★ weapons still use fragments → craft at Tuvalkane. Read Chordstone refining for improving your favourites.
Each unlocked Pact earns Mastery XP from combat, completing Sparrow's Tales, and Fables. Higher Pact ranks improve Arcanic effectiveness and unlock additional scaling benefits. Pact XP is earned passively while playing — the Arena is the fastest focused farm.
Crafting gear at Tuvalkane raises your Bond level with her. Bond 3 is non-negotiable: it unlocks Pact item crafting. Without Bond 3, you cannot craft new Pacts, which gates your class options and endgame builds.
How to raise Bond efficiently:
Bond is a long-term system — you cannot rush Bond 3 in one session. Start early so the gate is open when you need it.
Sparrow's Tales are short optional objectives that appear while exploring (similar to world events in other MMOs). Each completed Tale grants a burst of XP across all three tracks — Envoy, weapon, and Pact.
Why Tales matter for leveling:
Fables (main story quests) are the largest individual XP rewards in the game. Prioritize Fable progression over open-world grinding — the XP per minute from main quest content far exceeds random mob farming. See main quest walkthrough for the full Fable order.
Pre-Torment Stag priority: Sparrow's Tales and Fables > mob grinding. After Torment Stag, add Arena runs to your rotation for focused weapon/Pact XP.
After completing The Torment Stag fable, the Glades of Andurin dungeon may spawn an Arena tile: a room with a stag-statue landmark that triggers 20 waves of Mockeries.
What the Arena gives you:
How to access: Enter Glades of Andurin and look for the Arena tile. If it does not spawn, leave and re-enter the dungeon. Full details: Arena guide.
If you are asking "what should I level first" — the answer is all three tracks simultaneously, but with this order of focus:
| Priority | Goal | Track | Why | |----------|------|-------|-----| | 1 | Follow main quest Fables | Envoy Rank | Largest XP rewards, unlocks content gates | | 2 | Equip main weapon, use everywhere | Weapon Rank 30 | Damage scaling is passive — just use it | | 3 | Start crafting at Tuvalkane | Bond | Bond 3 gate takes time; start early | | 4 | Complete Sparrow's Tales in each area | All tracks | Burst XP across Envoy + weapon + Pact | | 5 | Beat Torment Stag → Arena | Weapon + Pact | Fastest focused Mastery farm post-Stag |
New player path: Recruit Tuvalkane → follow main quest → craft constantly → use one weapon type → beat Torment Stag → farm Arena for Pact/weapon XP. See Beginner's guide for the full first-week plan.
