How to Unlock Tuvalkane the Blacksmith

You need Tuvalkane in your Nightfold to craft weapons, armour, and Pacts. Without Tuvalkane, you cannot access the forge queue, Chordstone casting, or weapon tempering — three of the four core progression systems in Soulframe.

Quest: The Steelsinger

1. Explore east of the starting region to a crater camp.
2. Clear enemies and loot the Moonsteel Helm at the centre.
3. Follow your Sparrow to the nearby forge landmark.
4. Complete the handoff — Tuvalkane moves to your Nightfold.

After unlock

• Use the forge queue — jobs run in real time (craft timer tool).
• Raise Bond by crafting anything; Bond 3 is required for Garren Rood and other pact items.
• Pair with beginner tips — craft early, craft often.

After The Steelsinger, the Nightfold forge exposes four queues — confirm labels in your client after hotfixes:

Common blockers

• Skipping dialogue with NPCs near the crater — the quest trigger requires the full dialogue chain, not just item pickup.
• Trying to craft a Pact before Bond 3 — the forge UI shows the recipe but greys out the craft button. Keep crafting weapons and armour to push Bond toward level 3.
• Forgetting to interact with the Nightfold forge station (not the field campfire) — the field campfire is for basic rest only. Tuvalkane's actual forge is inside the Nightfold building.

Progression after unlock

Once Tuvalkane is in your Nightfold, the next priority is:

1. Craft a second weapon (unlocks weapon-swap mid-combat).
2. Push Bond to level 2 for tempering, then level 3 for pact recipes.
3. Farm Dermak Undercity for scrap materials to feed the forge queue.
4. Begin Oden's convoy for the Caelam Stone that unlocks Temper.

Nightfold vs field crafting

Tuvalkane only appears at the Nightfold forge station — not at roadside campfires. If a recipe looks available but the craft button stays grey, confirm Bond level on the Tuvalkane NPC page and queue a low-cost craft to push Bond before pact fragments. The craft timer tool helps plan real-time jobs while you farm Dermak materials.
